Market Up! @ Birmingham Museums & Art Galleries

Birmingham Museums and Art Galleries invited Mirror Mirror to create a drop in activity around Revealed: The Government Art Collection featuring over 200 mixed media art works from 1500’s to the present day.

Rising to the challenge we installed four ‘art crit’ market stalls  including art history costume making, storytelling, sketching recurring  details (such as hats, animals and trees)  and a coconut shy where participants could win a medium (including sculpture, ceramics and film).  Through games, making, tours and dressing up we subtly and playfully encouraged young people and adults to look at these wonderful works in more depth.
